Deciding to go out is not only about the forecast. It is about who will be there, at what time, and whether the condition at the spot is really the one the wind app promised. Today all of that lives scattered across ten WhatsApp groups.
A weather model is an area average. What decides your afternoon is what is happening at that spot, right now, and only the people there know it.
The group has 300 people, yesterday's message already scrolled away and nobody knows who confirmed. A session is not a chat: it is a commitment to a place and a time.
Access, parking, reef, current, swimming area. People from out of town find out the hard way, or simply don't go.
Marketplace, schools, rentals and the map exist to reinforce the meetup, never to compete with it.
Create a meetup with spot, date and time. Anyone who sees it confirms in one tap: I'm in, Maybe or I'm here.
Ideal wind, recommended level, facilities, access and hazards. Every spot reviewed before going live.
Spots, sessions happening now, and schools and shops nearby, in three layers you turn on and off.
People at the spot report the wind and the state of the water. The app shows that separately from the forecast, because they are different things.
Live conversation inside the session, and direct messages with anyone, with immediate blocking when you need it.
Schools, shops, repair services, guesthouses, restaurants and used gear, all filtered by what is near the spot.
Schools, shops and repair services tied to the spots. Anyone with idle gear can list it for rent.
Session confirmed, new message, spot approved. With a ceiling of one notification per minute: nobody deserves to be machine-gunned.
Level, disciplines, gear and the spots you ride, with you choosing what stays public.
A free system to manage lessons, instructors, gear and maintenance. Plus a presence on Kite Sessions to connect your school to the riders at the spots where you work.
Almost every wind app shows a single number. Kite Sessions shows two, side by side and with different names, because they answer different questions.
Wind, direction, temperature and sky for the coming hours. Useful for planning the week.
Conditions shared by people at the spot in the last 20 minutes, with the number of participants who contributed. The community helps itself so everyone gets more out of the session.
Every spot carries what you need to know before you arrive, and what you need to know before you get in the water.
The school for the first lesson, the guesthouse for the windy week, the used kite from the person riding with you tomorrow. Explore is local by design: it shows what is near where you are getting in the water.
Kite Sessions does not handle payment or delivery: the deal is between you two, and the Terms of Use say so in plain words.
Ceará, Maranhão and Piauí: 0 spots and 0 places registered around them, among schools, guesthouses, repair shops and everything else that surrounds a trip. The catalogue covers the whole country, and starts where the wind says so. Yours missing? Add it: an administrator reviews it and the whole community gets to see it.
Ceará, Maranhão and Piauí hold the densest part of the catalogue: spots, schools, guesthouses and repair shops, side by side. The catalogue covers the whole country, and starts where the wind says so. Yours missing? Add it: an administrator reviews it and the whole community gets to see it.
Gateway to the Lençóis through the delta, with a guesthouse and a school around it.
Sea and steady wind next to Jeri, with a kite center on the beach.
Sea, lagoon and river mouth at the door of the Lençóis Maranhenses.
It is a free community app for wind and wave sports in Brazil. Its centre is the session: a meetup scheduled at a spot, with date and time, that other people can see and confirm. Around that are the spot catalogue, the map, the condition reported by whoever is on the water, the chat in each session, and the Explore tab, with schools, lodging, rentals and used gear.
No. Downloading, creating an account, scheduling a session, joining a session, reporting conditions and listing gear are all free, and there is no charge per listing. The management system for schools is free too. There is an optional subscription, Kite Sessions Plus, which gives a verified profile, private conversations, exclusive sessions, more connections and the kite trip planner: none of what is described above depends on it.
Kitesurfing, wing foil, windsurfing, surfing and stand up paddle. The sport is a property of the spot and of the profile, not a separate app: each spot's ideal wind is recorded per discipline, and so is your level.
The catalogue has more than 360 spots mapped along the Brazilian coast, from north to south, with coordinates, ideal wind, access and known hazards. Coverage is densest where kiting happens all year round: Ceará, Maranhão and Piauí.
Yours missing? Anyone can add a new spot; a moderator reviews it before it becomes visible to the community.
In two ways, and it does not mix them. The forecast comes from a weather model and says what is expected. The reported condition comes from whoever is at the spot right now and says what is happening right now: wind, water, crowd.
The two appear side by side, separate and each with its own timestamp. A good forecast alongside a report of flat calm is exactly the information that saves you a wasted trip.
Yes, to schedule or join a session. That is what makes it possible to know who will be there. You can sign in with email and password, with a Google account or with Apple. The account can be deleted from inside the app, without asking anyone.
Yes. The Explore tab has listings for used gear, daily rentals, schools, instructors and repair services. The negotiation happens in the app's chat, between the two people; Kite Sessions does not process payment and does not charge commission.
No. Location is read only with the app open, and only when you ask for it, to sort spots by distance or centre the map. You can always switch city by hand, without granting GPS access, and nothing gets blocked because of it.
Yes, and it is free. Beyond the public listing, which shows up for people looking for lessons, there is a management system in the browser: lesson schedule with instructor, students and spot, team with availability, gear inventory and maintenance tracking. The business registration goes through review before becoming visible. The For schools page explains it all.
A forecast app answers whether it will be windy. Kite Sessions answers who will be there. The unit of the product is the session: a meetup with date, time, spot, list of who confirmed and its own conversation. The forecast lives inside it, next to the condition reported by whoever is on the water, and it is read against your own gear: 18 knots do not mean the same thing to someone who weighs 60 kg and to someone who weighs 95.
Through the session. Each meetup shows who answered “I'm in”, who answered “Maybe” and who has already checked in on site. And when the next day's forecast falls within a spot's rideable wind range, the app proposes a meetup in that window and notifies the people who saved that spot on their profile. The proposal becomes a real meetup when the first person confirms.
Free, built for people who ride in Brazil. Download it, pick your city and join your first session.
